Dogs vs Aliens puts you in charge of a pack of dogs tasked with reclaiming the island from aliens who are kidnapping pets. From the first minutes, you move from one area to another, you approach enemies to start the confrontation, then you bring your captures back to the base to secure progress. The game quickly gives a real sense of momentum, because every detour can lead to a new opponent, to a mission to complete or to an animal to free. You go from the park to the beach, then to the town square or to the forest, with the impression of chasing an invasion that is spreading everywhere. When the pressure rises, it is mainly the large alien bosses that change the pace, because they hit hard and force you to return better prepared if your group is not yet strong enough. As the adventure progresses, you collect resources to upgrade your dogs and turn young companions into far more formidable defenders. You also unlock new breeds, which strengthens the desire to continue until you collect the whole set, from German Shepherd to Husky to Doberman. The quests gradually tell the mystery of the island and give a clear direction to your progression, without preventing useful back-and-forths to strengthen the pack. Some situations block your advance if your dogs lack power, if a boss guards a passage or if you still need to gather enough resources to improve the team. You then decide whether it is better to capture more aliens, invest your coins in upgrades or speed certain progress using crystals. The whole remains fluid, varied and engaging, with that mix of rescue, exploration and evolution that makes you want to push the reconquest ever further. Enjoy!
