Cube Golf places you on 3D mini golf courses where a small white cubic shape must reach the hole marked by a flag before the allowed number of attempts runs out. From the first levels, you feel that mixture of precision and tension typical of courses that look short at first but are full of traps as soon as you must correctly gauge a trajectory. You launch your cube by calculating the power, then you observe its run, its bounces against the walls, its passage over a ramp or its sudden stop at the edge of a void. A timid shot leaves you far from the objective, a shot that is too strong can send you into a hole or off the playing field, which costs you an attempt. Color markers allow you to evaluate the strength of the shot, with a low, medium, or strong level, which gives each try a real sensation of immediate adjustment. Over the 100 levels, the game becomes more tense, because simple paths give way to narrow bridges over chasms, inclined barriers and detours where you sometimes have to accept a less direct angle to better prepare the next shot. You can aim for the gold coins scattered on the course, often placed in risky areas, to increase your leaderboard score, but that detour can also compromise a clean arrival at the hole. All the flavour of the game comes from this constant choice between safety, efficiency and risk taking. Finishing a level with few shots allows you to obtain up to three stars, which pushes you to replay to improve a route you thought you had already mastered. When an obstacle blocks you, you must review your reading of the scenery, exploit the surfaces and attempt a different power. It is up to you to play! Enjoy!
