In Build Your Backrooms, you play as the owner of an empty Backrooms plot and gradually transform this unsettling space into a profitable maze. The game begins with little money and a single monster, while visitors appear spontaneously and venture into your first yellow corridors. You expand the layout by connecting corners, straight passages, and more disturbing areas, such as halls with flickering lights or sections of damp carpet. As the figures move forward, they hesitate at junctions, delve into detours, and seem to lose their bearings. This confusion becomes your source of income, because a visitor who passes through more rooms earns you more. You must therefore encourage them to keep going without offering an obvious exit. A short layout limits your profits, but a poorly designed maze can also slow your development if you spend without planning your next expansions. Each new room changes the possible routes and encourages you to observe how newcomers move through your construction. The atmosphere changes as your domain grows, caught between the satisfaction of watching your cash pile up and the twisted pleasure of seeing strangers wander through your corridors. When your installation reaches an impressive size, you can restart on a reset plot to gain a permanent income multiplier and unlock a new biome. Enjoy!
