You take command of an army of heroes in Age of Heroes, in a succession of battles where you must defend your towers, launch your troops at the right moment and bring down enemy positions before being overwhelmed. From the first encounters, the game gives a constant sense of progression, because each victory brings you closer to a new era, with its units, its threats and its own military backdrop. You compose your squad by mixing several profiles, then watch the front line tighten, between direct assaults, fortress protection and sieges that require quick reactions. A stalemate occurs when the enemy defense holds for too long or when your own towers collapse under pressure, which forces you to revise your composition, strengthen your heroes and better anticipate the sequence of attacks. Over the course of a match, the interest comes from the variety of situations and the contrast between the eras you traverse. You may begin in the Stone Age with more rudimentary fights and the defense of a village, then feel the rise in power up to Medieval clashes, where knights and castle sieges completely change the pace. Then wars evolve again, with new forms of armies and battles that become more complex as you advance. Your decisions concern both the choice of heroes and the way to attack first or hold a crucial position under pressure. You must also consider the familiars that accompany your team, because they contribute to the overall strength of your army.
