12 Minute Escape plunges you into a world covered in magical mist where you must repair an ancient portal before the end of a twelve-minute countdown. From the start of the run, you move through hidden areas, spot slimes to eliminate, then collect the Essence they leave behind to fuel your progression. The pressure rises quickly, as every detour can cost you precious seconds. You immediately feel that everything rests on your ability to chain exploration, collection and returns to useful points without wasting time. Some passages become delicate when enemies accumulate or when you are still missing a resource to continue repairing the portal. As the run progresses, you also discover that the world is not fixed, because it transforms with temporary events that change your immediate priority. During a playthrough, you constantly alternate between caution and acceleration. One moment, you take advantage of a Golden Rush to recover more riches, another, you branch off to a Treasure Hunt to seize a rare opportunity before it disappears. You must also decide when to invest your resources in powerful structures and when to keep enough to strengthen your character. Improving power and movement speed concretely changes how you approach the map, because you clear some areas faster and return to the portal more easily. The presence of the Slime King adds a real threat, especially if you have fallen behind and your progression remains incomplete.
